If you have not returned your IT questionnaire, please do so by Friday to ensure we have your information as we want to support any family who needs it.
Teacher Progress Calls
Over the next week and a half teachers will be calling home to discuss your child’s progress and how they have settled back into school. These calls will be throughout the day. If we are unable to speak to you on the first attempt an alternative phone call will be made. Please ensure that school has an up to date contact number. In regards to Year 4 (Mrs Bennett) these calls will be undertaken when she returns to school.
Could I politely remind parents that if you need to send anyone else to collect your child, please can you let us know? We have lots of situations over the last few weeks where we have had to ring parents for confirmation. This is part of our safeguarding policy.
Many thanks for your support with us.
Rags2Riches will be arranging a collection of clean good quality clothing, belts, paired shoes, handbags, jewellery on 19th October from St Athan Primary School. Please could you put items in a bin liner or plastic bags? We cannot accept pillows, duvets, cd’s and uniform with logo.
Somewhere over the Rainbow
Our topic is somewhere over the rainbow, because we’re involving rainbows in our work. It’s a sign of luck.
A few weeks ago we did an experiment with skittles, a small plate and warm water.
We put the multi-coloured skittles on the edge of the plate and then we added warm water in the middle of the plate, the sugar shell streamed into the middle.
By Emmie, Lily-Pearl and Isabelle. Year 4
Year 1 have had a busy half term. Some of our activities have included working together to create a collaborative picture of a rainbow, reading and discussing the story of The Rainbow Fish, sequencing the story and retelling the story in our own words. Year 1 also take part in a daily 5 a Day Fitness session and daily Letters and Sounds Session.
Please can I ask all parents to follow us on twitter. It is very easy to do and doesn’t cost. This is a great way to see on a daily basis what your children are learning and how they are learning it. @StAthanPrimary
You simply ask to follow us and within 24 hours you will be given access. Give it a try!
